Giving your child an early start in anything they're passionate about is vital because they're better at retaining new information and skills than adults. That's why children are better at picking up new languages. You've probably noticed that most incredibly skilled boxers, dancers, piano players, etc., started young. 

Here are some of the reasons why it's a good idea to sign your child up for a music choir:

No Need to Learn Instrument

Singing is a much more natural action than learning to play an instrument. Most children can already sing along to a song without much trouble, so if you sign them up for a children's music choir, they can join in immediately. If you signed them up to play music on an instrument, it would take a long time of learning and practicing before they can join in. 

Help Them Find Their Voice

Does your child have a passion for music and love to sing? Joining a children's choir will allow them to find their rage and figure out what type of singer they are—a soprano, alto, etc. Knowing their range will help them sing with more confidence and sound more natural.

Prepare Them to Be in a Choir When They're Older

If your child loves to sing, and you think them joining a choir is inevitable, you'd be doing them a disservice if you don't sign them up for one while they're young. It will prepare them for the more complicated process of singing in a choir when they're older. They'll learn many fundamental skills that will make them a better choir singer when they're older. 

Get Them Used to Musical Collaboration

Many musicians who make music for a living started in a choir, and they're grateful that it taught them how to collaborate. Music is often a collaborative effort; the more you work with others, the better you get at it. If you sign your child up for a choir, they'll have to work with the other kids in the group to get the best overall sound.

Any Extracurricular Activity Is Good for Kids

Even if your child isn't particularly interested in music or singing, joining a children's choir can offer them many benefits. Any extracurricular will help them grow and feel like they're part of something bigger than themselves. At the very least, it will get them out of the house, and they'll likely meet many new friends.
