If you want to promote your singing career and are planning to record a demo CD at a recording studio like Sonic Farm Studio, it is important to prepare so that the recording represents your best. Record producers will not be able to tell whether or not you are sick on the day of the recording or whether or not this was your best effort. They will assume that you are presenting them with your best. Thus, it is important to prepare your voice properly before you enter the studio. Here are a few things you can do to ensure that your voice sounds it's best while you are recording:

Stay hydrated.

It's important to drink lots of water the day before recording in a studio. Most people recommend that you drink at least eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated. However, if you plan to be in a recording studio for hours, you are more prone to dehydration.

You will likely perspire more than you normally do because of the importance of the event. In addition, the more that you open your mouth, the more moisture is released. Thus, drink as much water as you comfortably can before the performance and take a bottle of water with you into the studio.

Drink hot tea with lemon and honey.

To prepare your throat, try sipping tea with honey and lemon. The tea should be warm so that it does not scorch your throat or cause the muscles to constrict due to a rapid drop in temperature. In addition, the honey will have a soothing effect, and the lemon can help clear away any mucus that could distort your voice.

If you start to develop symptoms of a cold, try honey mixed with apple cider vinegar.

Sometimes, a busy schedule and the time needed to prepare for a recording can cause you to forgo the rest that your body needs. As a result, you may develop cold symptoms, such as a sore throat or sniffles. To help ensure that the congestion is relieved without causing you to feel drugged, you can try mixing equal parts of honey to apple cider vinegar.

The honey has a soothing effect, and the apple cider vinegar, although it is an acid, becomes alkaline in the body. Germs cannot usually survive in an alkaline environment. Therefore, you can combat the illness and soothe your throat at the same time by taking a spoonful of the mixture as often as needed.
